The air was cold and damp. The fog still hung low to the ground. Sun barely rising in the sky that was still semi lit by the half moon and a few stars. This started off as normal as any other day in Amy's life at the stables, but the end of this day would be a total surprise!

The alarm goes off at 5:50 am and Amy turns over and turns it off with a loud "thud""
Ugh...time to start my day already? She had thought to herself.
As Amy rolled out of bed, she could smell the cold damp morning air coming in through her window.
Ty it's time to get up now. I'll have breakfast ready in about fifteen minutes I expect you'll be there, right?
Ummmhmmm. Ty had muttered half asleep.
Ty, please get up this time I hate to fight with you in the mornings! Amy was pretty much pleading with him at this point.
Amy let out a long drawn out "sigh" as she started to get dressed
Amy , please I really hate to hear you do that. He was still half asleep.
Well Ty! Amy had raised her voice at this point in annoyance. I hate that I will have to come back up here and wake you for breakfast and start my day without you. Just one day where you get up and not make me fight with you would be excellent!
Amy stormed out of the bedroom and went down the stairs to start her and Ty's food. Almost in tears Amy wondered why she had put up with him for so long.
You know why... she had started thinking before she heard the stomping of feet down the stairs. "Thump thump thump thump" Ty had actually gotten out of bed early!
Amy I'm sorry I hate to see you upset like this. Can we please talk a bit before we go down to the stables, and tend to the horses?
Amy was unsure what to say, but reluctantly she said yes.
Okay Ty what is it that we need to discuss? Amy was asking rather impatiently and rude as she sat down to eat her pancakes.
Well Amy, you know that I care about you a lot, and I truly do hate seeing you upset about things, but I was just thinking I don't know if I can continue on doing this kind of work for the . . . Ty was quickly cut of by Amy who was starting to become flush with anger.
Ty how dare you! I lost my Mother and Grandfather to this ranch, and I promised that I would take over. You knew the circumstances when you moved in, and we started becoming a lot more serious. You TOLD me that you loved doing this. Why now? Why all of a sudden? Amy's heart was racing with anger, and she was sure Ty could read it all over her face as well since she was pretty sure it was bright red by now.
Amy, please I just want to say that I don't think we should be doing all this work alone. It's hard, and I'm just flat out tired. We need some sort of help. I'm not saying I want to give this life up not at all. Will you please consider this?
As Amy slowly started to clam down a bit after hearing Ty's response to her angry rant, she realized she had jumped to conclusions before fully hearing him out. A now guilty look came over as she began to reply.
Yes, Ty I'll think about it, but you understand this all comes down to money. Something that we'er lacking in. We need to have staff qualified to work with our horses not just some kid who likes them. The staff that we have now costs us a lot. But like I said I'll think about it, as for now we have hungry horses who need to be fed. I'll see you at lunch I love you.
Out the door Amy went to start her first round of feedings. The air was bitter and cold this morning. Not so unusual for it to be genuinely late in the summer, actually it was almost fall. Amy reached the mare barn first to start her feeding. She was greeted by Snow and Storm first.
Hey my beautiful girls how are we this fine morning?
The soft nickers of the mares as Amy made her way down the aisle with food just melted her heart. And she thought to herself . . . What would I do without them?
She finished feeding the twelve mares in about twenty minutes, and was heading back to the feed room when she saw a strange car driving up the road heading in the direction of her house. She watched the car very intently as she walked through the feed room doors and put the cart away.
Well laddies Ty will be here shortly to let you out.
Amy then quickly began to head over to the stallion barn to start her rounds there when she was greeted by Nova. Nova was Amy's sassy grey cat who loved to follow her on her rounds and keep her company.
Well miss Nova you're late.
Nova usually met Amy on the porch in the mornings, but wasn't there this cold morning. Instead, she decided to met her by the stallion barn. Amy was, of course, okay  with this, and gave her a soft pat on the head as she walked by.
Nova "meowed" at Amy as if she somehow understood what she had said.
As Amy reached the stallion barn, she noticed the feed cart was missing form the feed room.
Hmmmm . . . I thought I put that away last night. She totally thought that aloud when a voice came out of nowhere.
You did. Kat had come rolling around the corner with the feed cart at hand.
Kat! What are you doing here?
Well Amy I know you and Ty have a lot of work to do, so I figured I would help out. I also wanted to come see how Tiesto was doing.

Kat for some reason had fallen in-love with that sweet stallion when Amy first brought him home, it was certainly unlike her to go for a stallion. Since she had told Amy, she loves the mares more because they had more of an attitude. Kind of silly really.
Kat thanks really! Tiesto is actually doing very well. He's in the last stall in this aisle. Here let me help with that.
Amy was actually re-leaved that Kat had stopped by. After all, she was Amy's best friend other than Ty, and things there didn't seem to be going to well, or at least not today they weren't.
That's really great, I'm so happy to hear he's doing well.
Kat handed the feed bin off to Amy and quickly said,
I'll give them fresh water and fill their hay nets.
Okay thanks again Kat this really is a big help. Now only if I could get Ty to do this.

Kat and Amy started laughing.
You know Amy I'm actually surprised he's still around. He didn't honestly strike me as the hard working type if you get what I mean.
Amy cleared her throat as if she was getting ready to spill out a long novel.
Well we had a fight this morning. He told me that we need to hire more people to help around here. But with the cost of the trainers and staff we have now I don't know that we could afford it.
What do you guys need help with? I mean I'm free most days I'm not working with the mares, but you already know this.
I guess he wants help with feeding and mucking stalls. I don't really know. I didn't want to get into it with him he had me really upset.
Well I could take over a few days a week if you would like me to Amy. No extra pay would be needed I love being around the horses anyway.
Kat are you sure? You're already caring for the mares every day to add feeding, mucking stalls and turn outs would be a lot of work for just one person.
Amy you're my best friend. You gave me a job, and you taught me almost all I know about these beautiful elegant animals. It would only be a few days out of the week, and it's also not that much work. It really won't hurt me Amy I swear. I'm only grooming the mares, and that's not much of a job anyway. Besides you and Ty could use the break.
Oh Kat you really are the best you know that right!

Amy gave Kat a big hug.
Well I'm done here, and I need to get home. Someone was heading up to my house as I was making my way over here to feed these guys. I'll be back shortly okay. See ya.
Bye Amy! Kat shouted as Amy was leaving the barn.
Amy made her way up the large hill heading up to her house, Nova not far behind.
Hmmmm Nova I wonder who that could be coming all the way out here?
Nova "meowed" quietly at Amy.
Miss Nova you really are a silly cat!
And again Nova replied with a "meow"
The hill almost seemed to never end as Amy's mind was racing with all the possibilities of who could be at her house. Finally, she reached the top of the hill and could now see her house and driveway. Parked in her driveway was a flat black car she had never seen before.
Hmmmmm. Amy said aloud as she walked past it in her driveway.
She made her way up the porch steps and up to the front door. As she opened the door, she could hear Ty talking to a woman. Amy quickly walked to the kitchen where the both of them sat at the table.
Hi I'm Amy who are you?
Hi Amy I'm Marie.
Hi Marie nice to meet you. Now why are you here? If it's for bills or whatever I promise you everything has been paid.
Damn you Amy really! You don't even let the women finish talking before you cut her off and accuse her of being a bill collector.
Amy's face had turned light pink in embarrassment before she started to get out an apology.
Marie I'm sorry I didn't mean . . .
Amy no really it's fine.
Marie was unusually nice, and the corny smile never once left her face. Not even with Amy being completely rude.
I'm here on behalf of Sim University. Classes will be starting up this fall, and l was telling Ty about it before you got here. I have some information with me if you would like to take a look.
PLEASE!

This is just what Ty and Amy needed. But what about the money problems, could they afford it? Amy looked over at Ty who was now glaring at Amy with the most evil look in his eye.

To be continued.....
(I will be adding photos to this some time soon and I will also finish typing out this chapter as we have a long way to go hope you  guys enjoyed reading this so far)
